BEFORE YOU ARRANGE YOU SUIT DONATION DRIVE

Over 65% of the donated clothing we receive from large suit donation drives are either 'unusable' or 'unsuitable' for our work. Donating unsuitable clothing hinders our work instead of supporting us and takes up our limited space, resources and valuable time.  We would ask that ALL clothing is checked and sorted thoroughly before donating to Suited for Success.

DRY CLEANING COSTS CONTRIBUTION

​

PLEASE NOTE: All the clothing is given to our clients free of charge is dry cleaned, of the best quality and theirs to keep. Funds to dry clean donated clothing items are fundraised by Suited for Success. To help with the costs we would ask businesses encourage donors to dry clean clothing before donating or make a small financial donation when donating clothing to the drive (financial donations to be arranged by the suit drive organiser).

 

Alternatively, a minimum financial contribution of £100 is made by the business (or organisation doing the suit drive) to Suited for Success to help towards the dry cleaning costs. Financial donations can be made online via our donation page

SUIT DRIVE DONATION GUIDELINES

ARRANGING YOU SUIT DONATION DRIVE​

​

Pick a visible location to hold your collection sing an office coat rail or boxes maybe in a reception, break area, canteen or a designated meeting room. Do plenty of advertising and internal communication on the run up to the suit drive. Run the collection for a couple of days to a week (people always forget to bring in their donated items.  We can provide posters, or our charity logo to create your own suit drive publicity.

SORTING DONATIONS

 

Designate someone/ team who will be the point of contact for the suit drive and will be responsible for the donation collection and ensures the quality and suitability of the clothing being donated. The point of contact will also be responsible for organising  and sorting through the donations thoroughly and any unsuitable items are discarded before sending to Suited for Success.

We are always especially in need of the following items:

• Good quality men's shoes (all sizes)

• Larger men's suits 48+

• Extra large shirts - 18+ collar size

• Small sized slim fit men's suits ( 34 - 36 chest, 28- 30 waist trousers)

• Plus size ladies clothing - 16+

• Women's flat shoes ( all sizes)

• Modest women wear - long-lined skirts and dresses, tunic dresses, abayas, long-sleeved tops, new leggings and head scarves.

• Handbags 

• New tights in packets

 

 

WHAT WE DON'T TAKE

Please note we do not take the following items:​

• Stained clothing, in need of repair, overworn or outdated.

• Casual clothing including jeans, t-shirts, trainers or sandals and knitwear

• Really worn shoes, scuffed or in need of repair

• Used socks, stockings or underwear
