Birmingham's city centre offices and businesses answered the call to take part in our 'record-breaking' suit donation drive to help Birmingham’s unemployed men and women gain employment.
In our biggest suit drive YET done in the city, our ‘#Don’twearitshareit’ campaign was a big corporate dress-down day on FRIDAY 22ND APRIL 2016. Over 1400 items of interview clothing has been donated so far including over 400 men's shirts and women's blouses, over 200 skirts, pairs of trousers and more...that will be given away to disadvantaged unemployed men and women to wear to job interviews.
The campaign is also our exciting official launch of Suited for Success as a new registered charity in the city and to fill our fab new premises based in Ladywood.
A BIG response
Staff at city centre buisnesses including Anthony Collins solicitors, Irwin Mitchell, Hettle Andrews, Gowling WLG , Shakespeare Martineau, Rider Levett Bucknall and KPMG responded in a BIG way donating a fantastic selection of gently worn and brand new suits, shoes, jackets, shirts, skirts and more.
Other business have also pledged to do a collection later in May.
As the collections continue throughout May a final count of the suits will take place at the end of the month to see how well we've done towards hitting our record breaking target of 1000 suits!!!
Don't worry if your business didn't take part this time around #Dontwearitshareit will be our annual campaign.
