Thank you JQ Bid

Businesses and residents across Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter came out in force donating to a week long suit drive for Suited for Success from 29th May - 5th June helping to change the lives of unemployed people in Birmingham going for a job interview.

The week long JQ suit drive was a partnership between The Big Peg, the Jewellery Quarter Bid and the Jewellery Quarter West Midlands Police team. Running group GoodGym Birmingham supported the drive by picking up the donated items from The Big Peg on the 5th June as part of their evening run and dropped them off at the Suited for Success centre.

GoodGym Birmingham are a group of runners who combine regular exercise with helping charities and local communities on the outskirts of the city centre. The running group is a regular supporter of Suited for Success.

JQ community spirit

Our first JQ suit drive took place in October 2017 and was a big success after businesses and residents donated hundreds of items. The support from businesses was highlighted by Nicola Ridler, Chairman of the JQBID and property manager at The Big Peg:

“The first ever JQ Suit Drive connected several partners in the Jewellery Quarter including the JQBID and The Big Peg to raise awareness for a local charity. A number of the businesses also got behind the initiative and donated suits, shoes and accessories which was really encouraging to see and reflected why we have such a good community spirit in this part of Birmingham.”
