HS2 contractors upgrade interview coaching area at Suited for Success

Suited for Success has received a stunning upgrade to our referral centre in Hockley thanks to warm hearted contractors working on the preparations for HS2 in the West Midlands.
Birmingham based LM, a joint venture of Laing O’Rourke and J. Murphy & Sons Ltd, is currently delivering preparatory works for HS2’s phase one in the West Midlands, and has brought on board specialist contractors CLM and Land & Marine Engineering, to construct specialist interview coaching pods for Suited for Success.
Donating workforce, materials and construction time, the charity now has bespoke facilities that will allow it to hold professional interview coaching appointments and training sessions. CLM, based in Oldbury, donated materials and workforce teams to construct the booths to a very high standard.
Land & Marine’s electrical team then attended to ensure socket points were safely integrated into the existing electrical supplies. A donation from Midlands based Total Reclaims Demolition supported the purchase of fittings and seating, and Genie Printing, in Digbeth, generously donated design and print facilities for our interview tips booklets that are given to each of our clients.
LM has worked with Suited for Success for over 18 months, and its support has included interview coaching, mentoring for unemployed candidates, as well as donations of clothes and shoes, and business skills briefings.
“Suited for Success is a landmark charity that’s making a big difference in helping Birmingham’s unemployed on the way back to work,” said LM Community Engagement Leader Katrien Goossens. “Bringing our own contractors in to meet them and understand their plans for growth inspired their support, resulting in fabulous new facilities, which will enhance the coaching for prospective candidates.”
“I can’t thank LM, and its contractors CLM, Land & Marine, Genie and Total Reclaims Demolition, enough for donating their time and resources to help us,” said Suited for Success chief executive Patricia White. “This is like a dream come true – we have a growing presence in the Birmingham business community, and great presentation is vital in giving candidates confidence to succeed.
"Our new facilities look amazing, and will allow us to expand our ‘one to one’ interview coaching appointments in real style.”
