Santander Discovery Day at Suited for Success

It was fantastic to host our first Santander Discovery Day volunteer team at Suited for Success on Tuesday 21st May. The great team included deputy regional directors, relationship managers and a branch manager who were on hand supporting clients on an employment programme with Crisis homeless charity.

The group of clients supported on the day came from a range of backgrounds and experiencing barriers to employment including convictions, homelessness and addiction.

From homelessness to employment

The day started with an interactive session led by Crisis Work and Learning coach Tom Belte helping the group explore their employment dreams , aspirations and barriers to employment. The Santander team also joined in on the session to share their own career journeys and experiences.

After the workshop session each client was coached one-to-one then dressed and styled by members of the Santander team preparing them ready for up and coming interviews and the world of work.

"I really enjoyed the day" said Michael Wilson (Deputy Regional Director for Santander Business Banking, West Midlands) . "I have to be honest I was really nervous at first but once I found a common ground with the clients it was great. I've had a great day sharing interview tips, socialising, building confidence and dressing people ready to impress."
