Birmingham 2022 Jobs and Skills Partnerships

The Games are set to put the West Midlands on the world stage and will create thousands of volunteering and job opportunities across the region.

Supporting Unemployed Young People

Working with the Commonwealth Games Organising Committee (OC), the West Midlands Combined Authority have established a Jobs and Skills Academy (JSA) intended to support 1000 unemployed young people to access the volunteering opportunities created by the games with a further 6000 individuals supported into training and employment.

Suited for Success will be working with the WMCA to support unemployed young people (18-30) in Ladywood Ward of Birmingham. The one year programme starting in Summer 2021 to December 2022 will link local young people living in Ladywood to the Commonwealth Games through unique training, volunteering and employment opportunities.
