HS2 Jobs & Skills Virtual Careers Fair


Suited for Success are really looking forward to being part of the HS2 Ltd virtual careers fair on Wednesday 24th February that aims to showcase the jobs the project is creating across the West Midlands.


The event is being hosted by HS2 Ltd’s community engagement team in a bid to showcase local job opportunities on HS2 ensuring that local communities, who live near to the route of the new railway, are given every opportunity to benefit from upcoming skills and employment opportunities.

About the webinar

During this free webinar, hosted by HS2, attendees will hear from the project team and contractors about the project and the range of skills needed to bring this iconic project to fruition. There will be two workshops which will provide you with information to help develop your CV and provide interview advice, including online interviews.


New jobs board


In January, HS2 Ltd launched its new online jobs board which displays all the current opportunities to work on HS2, within its supply chain. The jobs board is updated daily and already shows a huge variety of vacancies across the West Midlands a from apprenticeships to communications and engineering roles.


The webinar is aimed at local people who are looking for work or a change of career.


First impressions count


Suited for Success will be hosting two workshop sessions during the event giving interview tips and how to make sure that first impression count in a job interview, also offering our help and support for people wanting to apply for the jobs available. Throughout the two hour online event delegates will hear about the breadth of opportunities coming on board, suited to those interested in both site-based and office-based job opportunities.

Broad skills and expertise


HS2’s main works construction partner for the West Midlands, Balfour Beatty VINCI (BBV), will share details of upcoming opportunities that they will be recruiting and discuss the broad range of skills and expertise they are looking for. BBV expects to be one of the largest recruiters in the region over the next two years, forecasting that it will create around 7,000 jobs to deliver its section of the new high speed rail network.
