On Saturday 16th September our team had a VERY busy day out in the Ladywood Community today piloting a community clothes sale selling the more casual great quality clothes we sometimes get donated to Suited for Success (i.e jeans, t-shirts, jumpers). Everything was sold for just '£1' or less and all the money raised will go back into Suited for Success to help purchase new interview shoes for men, also haircuts and grooming and more...
The day was also an opportunity to promote the new Ladywood Job Club to local unemployed people starting soon in the Ladywood Community Centre that Suited for Success will be part of running.
It was great to recycle the clothes we can't use and help local people on low incomes at the same time. It was a great success so we're hoping to run another clothes sale event next spring.
A big thank you to our fab team of volunteers for giving up their Saturday, the Ladywood Project, the Real Junk Food Project, the Ladywood Community Centre, St John's and St Peter's Ladywood Church and Karis Neighbour Scheme for helping to make it happen TOGETHER!!!
