JQ Suit Drive 2018

Businesses and residents across Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter are being encouraged to donate a suit and change the lives of unemployed people in Birmingham going for a job interview.

Starting on Tuesday 29th May the week long suit drive is a partnership between The Big Peg, the Jewellery Quarter Bid and the Jewellery Quarter West Midlands Police team. GoodGym Birmingham will also be supporting the drive by picking up the donated items from The Big Peg on the 5th June as part of their evening run and dropping them off at the Suited for Success centre.

The GoodGym runners will also be on hand to pick up donations at locations across the Jewellery Quarter.

JQ community spirit

Our first JQ suit drive took place in October 2017 and was a big success after businesses and residents donated hundreds of items. The support from businesses was highlighted by Nicola Ridler, Chairman of the JQBID and property manager at The Big Peg:

“The first ever JQ Suit Drive connected several partners in the Jewellery Quarter including the JQBID and The Big Peg to raise awareness for a local charity. A number of the businesses also got behind the initiative and donated suits, shoes and accessories which was really encouraging to see and reflected why we have such a good community spirit in this part of Birmingham.”

Get involved - Donate a suit, Change a life!

Donations of suits and smart workwear (including shirts, trousers, skirts, blouses, shoes and accessories) can be dropped off at The Big Peg between 29th May - 5th June (Monday - Friday 8.30am - 5pm).

If you're a business in the Jewellery Quarter and would like to organise a suit drive or you're a resident and would like the GoodGym runners to pick up your donations on 5th June after 5.30pm please email: info@suitedforsuccess.co.uk to arrange a collection.
