WE'VE GOT A BUS!!! Thanks to an awesome bus donation from National Express Bus Suited for Success will soon be going on the road with our very own bus to support the unemployed in communities across Birmingham that has some of the highest levels of unemployment in the UK.
Over the summer we’ll be rolling our sleeves up for an exciting collaborative project to convert the retired bus with the help and support from a number of construction companies, also businesses offering pro-bono support from graphic design and marketing to business staff volunteer days already on standby.
The double decker will be converted into a mini pop-up Suited for Success with an interview clothing provision boutique on the upper deck and interview/employment preparation coaching booths on the lower deck alongside a computer station area where people can apply for jobs.
We often hear the term ‘hard-to-reach communities’. Our new Suited for Success bus will see us working harder than ever to reach as many unemployed people across Birmingham as we can.
To fund the conversion of the bus we are also launching a new fundraising campaign called 'High-Five' asking for people to donate just £5 to support us and high-five or work. We are hoping to get the bus on the road by the autumn.
We are so grateful to National Express West Midlands for the bus donation and we're super excited to get started!!!
